      Mr. Summers is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of Hanson Capital Corporation.   Hanson is a holding company with interests in manufacturing, real estate and distribution companies.

      Among these holdings are Steelcraft Inc., Waterloo, Ontario and Mr. Summers serves as its Chairman and C.E.O.   Steelcraft ( is a leading supplier of storage systems for liquid and solid materials, pressure vessels and process reactors, mixing systems and welded/machined cabs, frames, and sheet metal components for heavy off-highway equipment manufacturers.   Steelcraft operates facilities in Moncton, N.B.; Innisfail, Alberta; Edmonton, Alberta and Waterloo, Stratford, Cambridge and Woodstock, Ontario.  The company serves markets across North America including the Canada’s Far North but a majority of sales are to the U.S market.

      Prior to acquiring Steelcraft in 1996 Mr. Summers had an extensive senior management career having been CEO of Hanson Inc., a chemical manufacturing company and the Canada Metal Company, a metals manufacturer.  His company has previously been acknowledged by Canadian Business magazine as one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies.

      Mr. Summers is chairman of the board of Steer Insurance Brokers a growing commercial insurance brokerage in Toronto.

      He is also Chairman of Safedesign Apparel Inc. and Fireservice Management, a leading international supplier of firefighter’s protective gear. 

      Mr. Summers was a founding director of the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business in 1984 and was formerly Co-Chair of the National Board of Directors.

      He is a Trustee of the Islington United Church, Etobicoke, Ontario and has been a long term contributor/volunteer for Duck’s Unlimited Canada.

      In 2005 he was Chairman and C.E.O. of the World Presidents’ Organization, Alexandria, Virginia, a world-wide organization with 5000 current or former corporate presidents as members.  He is a former Chairman of the Ontario Chapters of both the Young Presidents’ Organization and World Presidents’ Organization.  

      He is a member of the Chief Executives Organization and a founding member of L3, a worldwide leadership organization.

      On behalf of WPO he and his wife led 7 missions to Cuba and one to Egypt.

      Mr. Summers holds a B.Sc. From Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan.

      Mr. Summers, his wife, Susan, and three children reside in Toronto, Ontario.
